County Information McKenzie County is located in Western North Dakota. Badlands, grasslands, plains, and valleys make up our terrain. McKenzie is the largest county, area-wise, in the state of North Dakota. We average three people per square mile of space. We are surrounded by Lake Sakakawea, the Yellowstone River, and the Little Missouri River. The north unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located here! |
